ginger_levinJoining us today is Dr. Ginger Levin, a certified PMP, PgMP, and OPM3 Assessor and Consultant.   Ginger will share with us insights she presented at the PMI Global Congress on how Knowledge Management should become an integral part of Project Management and how Knowledge management, if implemented effectively and used, is the key to success in project management and can transform the organization to excellence.

Dr. Ginger Levin is a Senior Consultant and Educator in project management.  She is certified as a PMP, PgMP, and as an OPM3 Assessor and Consultant.  She was the second person in the world to receive the PgMP.

In addition, Dr. Levin is an Adjunct Professor for the University of Wisconsin-Platteville in its M.S. in Project Management Program and for SKEMA, France, in its project management program at the masters and doctoral level.  Also, she is a Visiting Professor for The Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in Melbourne, Australia.

She has worked in the fields of project, program, and portfolio management for over 40 years.  In consulting, for almost 30 years, she specializes  in portfolio management, maturity assessments, the PMO, metrics, mentoring and coaching, and methodology development for government agencies and Fortune 500 companies including Cargill, John Deere, Genentech, EADS, SAP, Medtronic, UPS, General Electric, and TRW, to list a few.

Dr. Levin is the author or co-author of 12 books; her most recent books are “Interpersonal Skills for Portfolio, Program and Project Managers” and “Program Management Complexity: A Competency Model”.  She is a frequent presenter and keynote speaker at project management conferences worldwide.

Earlier, she held positions of increasing responsibility with the U.S. Government, including the Federal Aviation Administration, Office of Personnel Management, and the General Accounting Office.

She received her masters and doctoral degrees from The George Washington University’s School of Government and Business Administration, where she also received the Outstanding Dissertation Award for her research on large organizations and ethics.
