How Planview Can Enable Your PMO at Hyper-Speed [On-Demand Webinar]

Today’s PMO is not only under pressure to work at hyper-speed but also to satisfy customers who have higher expectations about their digital experience. To enable your PMO to keep up with the pace of digital transformation, it’s time to transition from tactical to strategic planning. Before I jump into just how you can smoothly achieve this transition, check out the blog, “Your PMO at Hyper-speed,” which covers the first webinar in this series.

The previous webinar, “Your PMO at Hyper-speed,” was a huge success, but there was one thing our participants kept asking: Can we learn more about how Planview solutions, specifically, can benefit the PMO? And thus, the follow-up webinar, “How Planview Can Enable Your PMO @ Hyper-speed,” was created, showcasing live product demonstrations that bring the story to life.

For a quick review, let’s look at some details of the first webinar. To start, we polled participants on two important questions:

  1. Where are you in terms of continuous planning; and
  2. What types of work are covered by your PMO?

How Planview Can Enable Your PMO at Hyper-SpeedThe majority answered either that they were “just getting started” with continuous planning or that they conducted “quarterly planning” for the first question, and the top two answers for the second were “traditional projects” and “agile.”

The primary thing that stood out from our poll results was that people work differently; yet, many organizations are unfamiliar or unpracticed with continuous planning, making the ability to adjust and priorities change  difficult. Those that are successful in today’s digital transformation are those with PMOs that are willing to adopt new roles and responsibilities to drive the right approaches and deliver necessary business value.

Ready to become one such PMO? Here are a few tips to get you started.

  • Shift from tactical to strategic planning. Allow employees to understand how their individual work contributes to the overall project and strategic goal. Set the direction of a project, then communicate it effectively.
  • Establish a common portfolio across the work landscape. People work differently, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have a clear sense of your operations and strategies. With continuous planning, effective portfolio management provides feedback for the strategic plan, and the strategic plan then directly influences portfolio management. Pretty good deal, if you ask me.
  • Demonstrate how you will deliver products to the market faster. With roadmaps, you can easily export documents to share with executives and stakeholders, providing them with a visual representation of progress made and the full strategic plan. Let them see for themselves how continuous planning can enable your organization to drive and deliver value faster.

Planview is here to help your organization understand its core strategies, then bring them to life. I encourage you to register for the on-demand webinar, “How Planview Can Enable Your PMO @ Hyper-speed,” where Linda Roach (Director of Solutions Marketing, Planview), Marcus Klein (Director of Product Management, Planview), and Jason White (SVP, Global Solution Consulting, Planview), provide engaging commentary into how Planview can help you get started with continuous planning and achieve effective portfolio management.
