Communicating Change: A New Book From Elizabeth

Have you ever wondered why some people’s projects just seem to gain traction in the business? Everyone’s heard of them. Everyone supports them – and not only the mandatory, top priority ones, either.

I think that has a lot to do with how we get the message out about the work we do.

Change management and communications used to be part of “someone else’s job”. Project managers weren’t hands on with communicating about their project. The sponsor did it, or the change manager, or even the business lead.

I don’t think that’s enough any longer.

If we want our projects to be truly successful, and get the business value we know they can deliver, project managers have to get involved in the issue of supporting change management.

But wouldn’t it be great to have a guide to what to say and how to say it? Something that took you through, step-by-step, how to plan the communications for your projects so that people would finally get what you are trying to do, cascade to their teams and do their part?

It’s the book I would have found really useful on the major enterprise-wide change programmes I’ve led, but I couldn’t find anything to tell me what to do.

So I wrote it.

Communicating Change: How To Talk About Project Change is a guide to everything I’ve learned about:

  • How to plan your project communications strategy
  • How to work out which tools to use to do the communicating
  • How to choose what’s going to work best in your project
  • How to evaluate the effectiveness of your project communications so you can do more (or less) of that next time.

The overall aim is to make it easier for you to start talking, writing, presenting and sharing about your project in a way that takes the comms planning process and makes it as low stress as possible.

Because you know me, I don’t do drama!

This book will be perfect for you if:

  • You are responsible for change management on your project, whether that’s part of your job description or not
  • You want to get you and your project noticed by being an awesome communicator and ensuring stakeholder support
  • You know you have to tell the right people the right thing at the right time but you don’t know where to start.

Communicating Change is available only as an ebook. This is the first book I’ve worked on with a publisher in only ebook format. The benefit of that is that I think this might be my most affordable book ever!

Priced at only £8.99 it’s a cost-effective way to get to grips with stakeholder communications, be better prepared and grow the level of support for your project.

I’d love for you to check it out! Get your copy here (PDF or Kindle, or you can read it through the publisher’s online library).
