Amplifying Women in Agile

April 2, 2021

It’s hard not to feel a bit boastful as I write this post. The truth is I am proud. I am excited. I am honored. And, I want to shout about it from the rooftop.

"Women in Agile Podcast sponsored by Scrum.org"Before joining Scrum.org last March I worked with Accenture | SolutionsIQ and had the privilege to be part of the Agile Amped podcast team. It was a joy to meet stalwarts and emerging thought leaders in the context of interviewing them for the show. While working on the podcast we had an opportunity to start shining a brighter spotlight on women in the agile community, and through that work, the Women in Agile Podcast was launched. As I left my prior role behind and joined my new Professional Scrum family, it was a delight to preserve my involvement with Women in Agile, specifically the podcast series. In fact, if I remember my early conversations with Dave West correctly, it almost felt mandatory for me to remain involved.

Over the past year I’ve celebrated alongside my Scrum.org colleagues as we’ve welcomed new women as Professional Scrum Trainers, leaned in to conversations as we’ve started hosting monthly calls to cultivate a greater sense of community amongst our female PSTs, and rejoiced when we were part of supporting women from the Scrum.org and Scrum Alliance communities with the Agile Bridges event. Each of these small actions in alignment with our commitment to social responsibility

Today I get to celebrate something new, the first day of a formal alliance between Women in Agile Org and Scrum.org. It is truly awesome to have my employer show generosity and support for an organization I’ve been involved with since its inception. I’m most excited for opportunities to collaborate with the larger Professional Scrum community in pursuit of expanding the reach for the podcast.

So, on behalf of the Scrum.org team I want to invite you to tune in and take a listen. The Women in Agile Podcast releases each week on Wednesday, and today we have a special release episode to celebrate the new Scrum.org partnership. In this episode, I have a conversation with Dave West and Patricia Kong as we explore how team and organizational diversity is key for people and teams solving complex problems.

Help us spread the reach of the WiA Podcast by subscribing, rating and reviewing on one of the platforms where the podcast series is published.
