The dictionary defines alignment as “the proper positioning or state of adjustment of parts in relation to each other”. In other words, strategic alignment also links an organization’s practices, objectives, resources, and system for an improved performance and advantages in the business industry.

Strategic alignment varies since not all organizations are actually the same. This creates a rather difficult position for strategy plans when it comes to decision-making. Not only that, implementation would be more complex since it is affected by strategic alignment implementation.

The strategic alignment should come up with a task system and the tasks must be in accordance with the organization’s system.

A person in charge of strategic alignment is required d to possess the following skills and capabilities to be able to effectively implement the plan.

 

  • Sees the big picture when it comes to certain issues, scenarios ad decisions.
  • Able to identify stakeholders in the organization and business and market industry and creates engagement with the staff
  • Detects company politics and able to come up with appropriate resolutions
  • Able to comprehend the connection between certain issues
  • Aware of the various impact of particular actions implemented
  • Able to see things with a different and fresh perspective
  • Makes sure the following strategies align to the organization’s hierarchy
  • Able to come up with decisions that are aligned with the organization as well as related variables

 

Even if you have strategic alignment under your belt, you still need to take the actions into account and consider its impact in your organization. Reevaluating the information and factors include in the strategy are one of the tasks you should not neglect.
