Your location: Nigeria.

Your favorite gadget: My macbook.

You start your day with: Taking a walk and clearing my thoughts. Preparing and planning for the day by writing those things I want to accomplish for the day.

Your favorite time-saving trick: delegating. Leveraging on people always works!

Your top 3 blogs you read daily: Inc.com, Entrepreneur.com and businessinsider.

A picture of your workstation or the view outside your window if that inspires you:

Describe your average day.

I wake up at 4 a.m, take a walk and get to responding my emails by 5 a.m. Work typically starts about this time. I take a break by 11 a.m, go out to visit friends, tend to personal matters or hangout. I am back to my work desk by 3 and round up with work for the day by 6.

What are some of your favorite productivity hacks?

Working in the right environment. Since I am always on the move, I like a place where there is calm and peace. I love working in places where I am completely immersed in my work and there is no distraction.

Using productivity tools like Trello, Slack or Quire to stay in touch with my team.

Creating and setting goals with my team. I work with a virtual team and communication is important to stay abreast of what needs to be done. The good thing though is that I have carefully picked persons who are independent thinkers. However setting goals and making sure everybody knows what needs to be done helps us attain so much more.

Currently we are working on the publishing unit for the blog, where we can publish hardcover books and deliver to our readers around the world. Certainly we also want to improve on our social media channels and the kind of content we produce.

How do you manage marketing for your blog and personal brand?  I’m sure you rely on a few marketing tools to automate your efforts.  What are the top 3-5 tools you use?

Of course:

Mailchimp

Onlywire

Sumoapp

What is your strategy for getting people to your site and engaging with them?

Quality content. You would always get most of your traffic from Search Engines so it is important to have content that search engines love.

Engaging with my audience via social media channels. It could be Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter or Googleplus. Google plus is especially good for the SEO of my blog. Facebook’s new algorithm may not be  great for us bloggers but it has a large audience waiting. LinkedIn shows my influence on what we blog about and yes Twitter is great for feedback. It all depends on what social media channels works best for you.

I do write for a couple of authority blogs so I get backlinks to my website from these blogs. It doesn’t simply demonstrate authority, but people who loved my writings will always want to check my blog out. So backlinks from authority sites work as well.

Is there any advice you'd like to give to budding marketers to help them work smart and stay productive?

Stay up to date with fresh techniques in internet marketing

Improve your blog’s SEO and use keywords in your content

Connect and improve your relationship with other content marketers. Yes you should reach out to people who are more experienced and skilled in your field. It has always worked for me. There is so much to gain from such relationships including clientele and knowledge.

How do you make use of your downtime? Any hobbies, out of work interests that rejuvenate you?

Reading books. And seeking solitude. I love peace. Some meditation is also great. That doesn’t mean I don’t party hard. It is important to find an outlet for your stress after a hard day of strategizing and executing your plans.

A big thanks to Casey for taking the time out to answer these questions! If you haven’t already, we highly recommend that you check out www.caseyimafidon.com.
