Why I’ve Lost My Way As A Project Manager

Rebel’s Guide to PM

This blog post was originally a newsletter article. I scheduled it to send out recently (I do automate sending emails, otherwise you’d get 3 at a time at 11pm one day and then nothing for months) and forgot about it. Many of them were as long as this article; each of them sharing their own struggles, perspective and tips for coping with the challenges I talked about.

We become comfortable in what we know, and moving into an unknown experience can be scary. There are many reasons people resist change, particularly in a work environment. There are the people who “have always done it this way” and are hard to convince that doing things a different way will create a better outcome.

Zu meinem Erschrecken hatten sie bis dato noch nichts geliefert, was ein Kunde wirklich nutzen konnte. Mein Ansatz, um das zu ändern, lautete: Sprint-Ziele.

The ultimate guide to closing projects (with free project closure checklist and report)

Planio

All good (and bad) things must come to an end, especially in project management. Project closure is the final stage of the project lifecycle. For most teams, an official project closure process feels like a waste of time.

Can John Cleese’s Advice Help Solve Those Tough Project Issues?

Bridge the Gap Consulting

Let me start by saying, if you don’t know who John Cleese is, look him up. Watch a couple of his Monty Python skits. Then c’mon back to this article! About six months ago I was talking about the movie “Monty Python and the Holy Grail” with a couple coworkers. Someone mentioned John Cleese’s book on creativity. Given I’m not what I would define a creative person, didn’t give it a second thought.
