Lessons learned, first you capture the lessons and then release what you learn. . Going through the project life cycle you will experience peaks and valleys, highs and lows. One would hope more peaks but, unfortunately there will be some lows. If you follow the practice of lessons learned then you benefit from the knowledge acquired throughout your projects. .

Spoiler alert! This posting may be dry to the taste. Ever been asked to write an RFP (request for proposal)? It may not be as easy as you think. My metric is about 2-3 hours per finished page, exclusive of specifications. Specs are normally just imported from an engineering, marketing, or product team. So, it could take you the best part of a week to put an RFP in place.
