Both autotest and guard are configurable to filter files by filename and to control whether the full test suite is executed after a failed test has been corrected. ZenTest and guard are specifically intended to support Ruby application development. We use bundler to define the dependencies for our application.

The specs are executable, and they will “fail” (display error messages) when the application does not behave according to expectations.
