Kanban is from Japan, originating in the factories of the Toyota car company in the 60s as a lean manufacturing tool for workflow and inventory management. For one, both are ideal for lean and agile projects, limiting work in process and favoring a continuous scheduling flow as opposed to pushing through a schedule.
